Is the presence of red ants living in a cedar tree a bad thing? Are they damaging to the tree or co-existing? If those ants are actually carpenter ants, then they probably are making the tree their home and it could be causing structural integrity problems. Use an insecticie to abate the problem before it worsens. Call an arborist if the tree shows an signs of decline. |
