Is A Recognized Tree Care Professional
According to the International Society of Arboriculture,
“[An ISA Certified Arborist is] recognized […] as a tree care professional who has attained a generally-accepted level of knowledge in areas such as tree biology, diagnosis, maintenance practices, safety, and other subject and practice areas within the tree care profession as identified through periodic job task analyses.”
“[An ISA Board Certified Master Arborist is] recognized by their peers and the public as having reached the highest level of certification offered by ISA.” [Achieving this credential demonstrates] “a thorough knowledge of and dedication to correct arboricultural practices.”
These professionals specialize in tree and woody plant care, including soil management, pruning, diagnosis and treatment, tree risk assessment, and safe work practices.
Undergoes Regular Continued Education
ISA Certified Arborists must obtain 30 continued education units (CEUs) every three years to keep their certification. This ensures that they are kept up-to-date on the latest tree care practices. ISA Board Certified Arborists must obtain 60 CEUs in specific categories to maintain their credential.
Complies With Codes Of Ethics
ISA credential holders will always comply with a code of ethics regarding professional manner and professional standards regarding arboriculture practice. This means that they will always use the most accepted, scientific, and up-to-date tree care practices. For example, our ISA Certified Arborists will never top trees, which damages trees by removing the central stem and upper main branches.
